DECEMBER 15, 2022: SLASH X-MAS AT FILMCASINO

For the tenth (!) time we summon the SLASH Christmas spirits and as always they are anything but quiet, because BEING NAUGHTY IS SO MUCH FUN! In addition to the two movie presentations on the big screen, we will serve our traditional SLASH punch and homemade cookies, and at the raffle there will be fine gifts to pick up.

Christmas is tough. We’re tougher.

CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS – Cinema Premiere

Joe Begos | US 2022 | 81 min | DCP | eOV

CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS (R: Joe Begos)

Like a long-lost exploitation grenade from the late seventies, Joe Begos’ savage holiday slasher CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS roars around the corner, in which a Santa Claus robot with a splitting axe in his hand runs amok to Steve Moore’s synth score and preys on the cast-iron and hard-drinking vinyl & VHS store owner Tori and her employee Robbie. More story isn’t, but it doesn’t need to be: the result is a neon-lit and rather thuggish throwback to the trash film gutter, shot on 16mm film and not least therefore a visual feast. Gory Gory Hallelujah!

PROJECT WOLF HUNTING (R: Kim Hong-sun)

As the year draws to a close, SLASH serves you a very special treat that has been keeping the genre world in suspense since its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and whose body count is already a legend. A bunch of serious criminals are transported on a container ship from the Philippines to South Korea. Although closely guarded, the violent criminals soon manage to riot, but wake up something deep down in the belly of the freighter. Director Kim Hong-sun fills his rather simple story framework with massive Grand Guignol interludes and makes PROJECT WOLF HUNTING the best piece of splatter cinema of the year.
