One of the best horror anthologies of recent years enters round four: V/H/S/94 goes back to the titular mid-1990s and the video-cassette aesthetic, which drenches this quintet of highly effective found-footage horror miniatures. Once again, participating directors like Chloe Okuno (also represented at SLASH with Watcher), Simon Barrett, and Timo Tjahjanto conjure up old genre tropes with classic monster figures but cleverly yank them into the present-day—or should we say future?—of horror cinema. So much fun!
